That is the question.
So JT's lab tests came back negative. Except wheat stood out in the RAST test. But according to his doctor it's not a conclusive test and we should try removing wheat from his diet to see if his symptoms improve. He also suggested seeing an allergist and get a skin allergy test done as that's more trustworthy.
So we remove wheat from his diet. And he eats what? Wheat is in EVERYTHING. OK not everything but it sure seems like it. When I cook we're either having pasta as a side or pasta as the main course or wheat in the cereal or bread for lunch or supper. I am at a loss on what to cook now. Should I let him eat a banana and yogurt all the time since that's all he seems to want? I have no idea where to go. What else to make as a side dish besides mashed potatoes and rice.
No more Slowly Deviled Beef WITH buttered noodles
No more Rotini pasta with meatballs and spaghetti sauce and twisty bread
No more pancakes
No more cookies
No more cakes or cupcakes
No more bread
No more Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
No more fettuccine Alfredo
No more Chicken nuggets with macaroni and cheese (and broccoli) JT's FAVORITE meal
No more pizza
I'm sure most crackers out there have wheat in them too
And who knows what else I'm missing right now.
What in the world am I going to make now for him to eat that will fill him up? It's bad enough he's hungry an hour after he eats. I need something with substance. And something that has food that I can find at a 'normal' grocery store. Why do most wheat free recipes have ingredients that require you needing a passport to obtain them? I want something easy that doesn't require 600 ingredients and 4 hours to cook.

Yeah, it does seem that wheat is in everything! Poor Mama and Poor JT! Maybe buy the pasta that is made out of rice?
