My thoughts on the Health Care Bill

Ugh...

That's all I have to say about that.

This got me thinking

I was watching the news last night. Actually it was NBC Nightly News I was watching. They were doing a story on unemployment. This caught my attention as this has touched alot of our close friends including us. They were talking about how the unemployment rate is now at 10%. What is striking is the reporter doing the story stated many people have given up looking for a job therefore are no longer listed as unemployed. Because of this the numbers may actually be higher than what is being reported. Eek!

The reporter again said this is a major concern in America and for Obama but first we must work on the Health Reform.

Um...I don't know about about you but why don't we put Health Reform aside (not that I agree with it) and work on creating jobs for most of the Americans that are unemployed?

New Law

There's a new law that goes into effect July 1st. All kids under the age of 8 or 4 foot 9 inches tall need to be in a booster seat.

I seriously have a problem with this law. Where are my rights as a parent? If I as a parent think my child doesn't have to be in a booster at 8 years old I should have a right not to put them in one. Why do I need the government to tell me how to raise my child? Bad enough I need them in my life determining how fit I am adopt a child and now they are making decisions for me too?

What about my sister who's barely 4 foot 11 inches tall. She's barely 4 foot 9 by the time she was in the 7th grade. So she's suppose to be in a booster seat at the tender age of 13 because her genetics place her in the short group?

I have so many issues with this. I will not force my child to be in a booster seat when he is 8. The government needs to spend less time trying to tell us American's what we can and can't do by all these laws and spend more time trying to create jobs.
