Hello World!

I'm Baaaack!!

I have decided to start up this rusty old blog. Many changes are happening in the Musical Family household. Stay tuned.

Please bear with me as I update my blog look. I am hoping for a new background to jazz this up a bit and make it more lively.

I sure missed you all! All 6 of you! :)

Motivation

I love this blogging roller coaster. I write pretty regularly and then I don't. Then I'm up writing and then it dries up. It's pretty hard keeping up with the writing when only 3 people, if that, check in. That's even including the few I have no idea who they are. I have one person who comes up as unknown and that's pretty scary. I just looked and someone from Australia and Canada checked. I understand Australia as it came from my friend's blog but Canada? They actually had to know my blog address. I don't know anyone in Canada. I know people who may go to Canada but they don't know my blog address and it isn't published.

I suppose I should just be happy someone's logging on. Although in this day and age I worry about hackers and not so nice people. So I had removed our pictures from the side. Just for my sanity. I didn't have a watermark on them and I don't want people copying them and using them to their discretion.

So hopefully soon I'll get motivated again to write. Until then enjoy this beautiful weather (if your in MN) we have coming.

Joys of blogging

I received an email a few days ago from a company that says it has revolutionized the birth experience. In this email the writer (I'm guessing the owner) proceeds to mention how I'm like most women who know the pain of labor and delivery can be worrisome.

Um...have you read my blog or are you just looking for free advertising? Oh! I see it's the latter. Because my son is adopted!

I truly understand if I was to meet this person in real life she wouldn't know. And in all honesty I may even listen to her pitch and if it sounds interesting and helpful may pass it on to my friends who are pregnant. But this is a blog. My life is out there. I don't hide my son is adopted. I may even share the link of the company for other's who happen to find my blog and might be interested.

Instead you all get a ranting post from me on people not taking the time to actually read a blog before asking for something for free. Very annoying.

Needs some updating...

As I'm starting to write more again on my blog I'm realizing that my blog needs some updating. Unfortunately the pocketbook is telling me the blog design needs to wait but I've been thinking of changing our blog names. Something more unique for all of us. Mommy and Daddy seem to generic. This is a task I thought would be easy. Yep, it's not. This is probably why I stuck with Mommy and Daddy and Little Man.

After much thinking (it's been months) I've hit on some names on our family makeup. We are a musical family. Daddy and I play the trumpet and sing (as you all know we are in our church choir and play handbells), I also play the piano and Little Man has been singing since he was an infant and is eager to start trumpet lessons. So, without further ado, here are our new blog names:

Daddy = The Conductor - TC
Mommy = Harmony
Little Man = Jr. Tenor - JT

Hoping to add, a soprano, alto, and bass in the near future. :)

This is going to get some getting use to isn't it?

Who are you?

My blog is semi private. Semi meaning it's not posted out there in internet land and it's not private where you need to give me your email address to have access to read.

I can see who logs and reads my blog. I know who each isp name belongs too.

Except one. It's ISP is unknown and this scares me. Why must you be unknown? What are you hiding? I don't mind you reading my blog but I'd like to know about you too.

I see you were on yesterday at 8:19pm. On the 23rd you were on at 9:15pm. June 22nd you were on at 7:01pm, the 21st at 8:51am (I feel honored you were bored enough at work to be reading my blog). On the 20th you were on twice at 12:03 pm (I'm thinking you were on lunch that day) and 4:54pm.

I'll stop there. You get the drift. So please post a comment and introduce yourself. I won't post it. I'd just like to know who you are so when I see the unknown ISP I can think to myself 'Hey that's Jane!' or 'Aw, Barb was on today. I hope she had a great day.'

Another Shout Out

To Jenny at Pink Armchair Designs. She designed this layout for my other blog and I loved/love it. I sent her email letting her know I was no longer using my other blog and will soon be deleting it. I mentioned I started another and would love for her to design another layout but couldn't afford it and I was too much in love with this design.

She being the awesome person she is offered to use this design and cut her rate. How awesome is that?! Welcome!

I have decided to start a new blog. Due to some recent events I don't feel comfortable writing on my other blog and feel hindered in what I can and can't say. I shouldn't have to feel that way and didn't want to go private so I've decided to start a new blog.

This is so weird having to start from square 1. First post. Standard background and no links posted yet. Give me a couple weeks and I'm sure it'll be nice and homey here and it'll feel like I was writing here for years.

I am hoping to get ahold of all my online, blog, and in real life friends and let them know of the change so they can update their blogs. If you want to keep my old blog on yours feel free but I won't be posting there any more. I will have it linked here for awhile so people can refer back to it.
