Whoops

I guess we won't be eating at our dining room table until all the adoption paperwork is filled out and sent. I have the paperwork in piles, the ones I need to fill out, the ones TC needs to fill out, and another that is already filled out. It's on one side of the table and I thought it was far enough away from JT when he eats. Well he had put his frosty glass on the table and it sweated (is that a word?) and got some of the papers wet. Whoops.

On other news today was Day 1 of me working out. TC got us a membership at a gym that is literally a block from our house. Nice! I started slow and did the treadmill for 30 minutes. I didn't want to over do it since it was my first day. Plus I was hungry and new I'd be very dizzy at the end, which I was. Now to work onto weights and hopefully get a new routine and get myself in shape and toned. Along with getting my heart strong which is what my cardiologist wants.

I can't believe I forgot

We received the formal application today along with some other paperwork. I can't believe I forgot how much paperwork there is. We also need physicals, background checks, and fingerprints. Luckily all we have to do for the background check is fill out this form. The fingerprints thankfully will happen a little further down the road.

I am kind of worried that we have to do the physicals before we had in our formal application. At the other agency we could do them later. I'm trying to get everything in so we can get in the July classes. I am trying to find a doctor closer to home and will need to call a new clinic to schedule my appointment. I'm sure the appointment will be a ways out. I'm going to call the agency and find out. I hope we can send the application in at least.

I think this is the hardest part of adoption, all the paperwork and making sure everything is filled out.

My other least favorite part is asking for references. I'm kind of embarrassing asking people to talk about how good you are and your not a serial killer. I have a couple friends who offered to write up something. Now I just need to find one more. The other thing is I know everyone is busy and hate to hound them but the agency needs them.

If we don't need the physicals yet and I can send in the application, I hope to mail them next week. Can't wait!

CHOCOLATE!

It's been one of those days. All my friend's know I can't eat chocolate. I am allergic to it or at least have an intolerance to it. I use to double over in pain after eating chocolate. Now I get crabby and moody and the only person I seem to take it out on is TC. Well, I ate one of his ice cream sandwiches (YUM!). I am starting to feel the cranky bug come out and TC isn't even home! This is a big predicament.

Hang on to your hats!

I have lots of news to share.

First news is I am going back to school. I am going be getting my B.A. in Business Management with a minor in Health care Leadership. I took 2 classes this past Spring and will start my cohort in Sept. I will say it is going to be a very long 2 years. I was studying every night and pretty much all weekend. That was tough on my and JT. Every time he saw my laptop out he asked if I was doing schoolwork. I hope and pray that when I (finally) walk across the stage he can be proud of his mom and know that if I can do it he can do anything too.

The other news is we are starting adoption #2. I am excited and petrified at the same time. We will not be going through the agency we used for JT's adoption. We had an informational meeting today and filled out the preliminary application before we left. Hopefully we'll receive the formal application next week and can get started on that. After that is completed we need to attend a few classes. The next round of classes are at the end of July. I hope we can get into those and not have to wait until Aug.

The one thing about this is, of course, the money. We had a little bit of JT's tax credit to claim on last years taxes and because of the new tax law our refund is held up. We were hoping to use that for the homestudy (since most banks and other agencies who offer loans won't issue a loan until the homestudy is complete). I'm now searching the web for anyone who can issue us a loan to get through the homestudy. Prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Hello World!

I'm Baaaack!!

I have decided to start up this rusty old blog. Many changes are happening in the Musical Family household. Stay tuned.

Please bear with me as I update my blog look. I am hoping for a new background to jazz this up a bit and make it more lively.

I sure missed you all! All 6 of you! :)

Happy Birthday, JT

Four years old! I can't believe JT is 4 years old today.

I also think about S today. I wonder if she thinks of JT. If she starts getting anxious for our pictures and letter as we send them around the end of July. Is she OK with her decision. Is she happy with how we are raising JT? Will she ever want to meet us?

So many questions go through my mind but I just concentrate on watching JT have the time of his life on his birthday.

We went and saw Toy Story 3 today. Great movie!! JT was enthralled. He loved it. We opened presents had tacos for supper and had a Toy Story cake with ice cream. He is now tucked in bed with his new toys close at hand. (Like the new Cars laptop from A&B).

I am exhausted and ready for bed.

I love this house!!

I'm sitting here at our kitchen table doing some work on my laptop. I missed work yesterday and will miss work again Friday afternoon for A's sisters wedding. So I wanted to make up as much time as I can without having to use vacation. I'm sitting here working away when someone knocked on the door and rang the bell

Let me interrupt and ask, who does that? Pick one, ring the bell or knock. Don't do both. Oh and the knock was the infamous da dada da da duh duh. Really who does that on some one's door? OK ranting done.

I have two rules about answering my front door; 1.If we're expecting friends I'll answer it and 2.I don't have to answer it if I don't want to.

And tonight I don't want to because we aren't expecting anyone and plus the knock and doorbell gave me the willies. None of our friends do that.

And the reason I love this house. I didn't have to and they didn't know we are home because the window doesn't look into our whole house like the other house did. I have sat on my couch and had some weird old man looking in my front door window ringing the bell at our old house motioning me to answer it (JT wasn't home). Just because he could see me doesn't mean I have to answer it. I did not feel safe watching TV at night in our old house. Even if I had the lights off someone could see me sitting in the livingroom. In this house if they look in they'll see a wall with hooks and coats on it. Ha!

LOVE IT!

P.S. 4 1/2 more days until the consult!
