Daddy, Little Man, and I stopped for lunch today at Arby's after a busy morning of haircuts and returning a dress I bought. While we were eating a family sat down a few tables from us. It was a guy, his wife, 3 or 4 year old daughter and their infant.
Daddy, Little Man, and I finished eating and I was helping Little Man get cleaned up. Little Man is getting more independant and wanted to do it himself. So he was wiping his face off and hands. Daddy got him out of the highchair and he lost a shoe. While I was putting his shoe on Little Man and I were talking. He was teling me how much fun he was having and how good lunch tasted. I asked him if he said 'Thank You' to Daddy. He said 'No' and kept saying he has to find Daddy and say 'Thank You'.
While helping Little Man I had a feeling we were being watched. When I stood up I noticed the guy was staring at us. He didn't even bother to look away when I noticed him.
Go ahead, stare. I don't mind him watching us. I believe it's a parents job to raise a child to be respectful and caring. It's not easy being a parent and some days I wonder if I'm truly doing the right thing. But on days like today, I know Daddy and I are doing a good job.

He probably wished that his kids were as polite as Happy Feet!
